Deep greens are having something of a revival, and Vert Bosphore explains why better than any trend piece: it is the green of old library lamps and pine shadow, dark enough to behave like a neutral, alive enough that you never quite stop looking at it. In Epsom on this Bolide 27 the colour sits flat and rich, the embossed grain giving it depth in low light.
In the hand: twenty-seven centimetres wide, twenty tall, ten deep, and it swallows a wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses and a paperback with room to spare. The zip opens wide, the dome holds its shape empty or full, and the Epsom surface laughs off rain and cafe seats alike.
The interesting pairing here is the gold hardware: against dark green it reads antique rather than yellow, like brass on an old compass. The rolled handle and the strap both carry well, and the bag sits close to the body in crossbody wear, which keeps the deep colour from dominating an outfit.
Honest caution: dark green in summer can feel heavy next to pale linens, so this is a colour I wear mostly from September to May, and I would give the same advice before you commit. Also, gold on green is a classic combination, not a subtle one — expect the bag to be noticed, quietly.
Good news, then, that it happens to be noticed for exactly the right reasons.
