Photographed against a hedge, this green nearly disappears; worn in the city it glows. Vert Criquet is a park color that survives pavements, which is a harder trick than it sounds.
The Picnic 25 comes in swift calfskin with silver hardware; it carries wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses and a small water bottle, and nothing about the smooth green leather asks for more. The flap closes with the usual turn-lock, silver against green, and the 25 also fits a paper fan, a summer habit I picked up in a hot city.
In use, the color is the feature and everything else follows: swift smooth, hardware quiet, shape soft and light. It reads brighter on pavement than in shade, so the bag you chose in a leafy shop will look even better downtown. I have worn it bare-shouldered in August, and the rolled handle stays comfortable without slipping.
Honest notes: grass stains set on smooth calf faster than you expect, and this is a bag that will be near grass; wipe in the moment, not at home. Green hides handle darkening well but shows a scuff as a pale line until it settles. Treat it as a companion for good weather.
Worn with white, denim or black it looks like a deliberate accent. It is the smallest piece of the outdoors you can bring to a city lunch, and for park afternoons it beats every canvas tote I own.
