Grizzly is the one people reach out and touch without asking. The surface is a soft brushed nap beside smooth swift panels, and 18 Etoupe is its natural partner: a grey with enough taupe warmth to look like weather, not stone.
At 25 by 20 by 13 cm it holds wallet, phone, keys, lipstick and a compact, plus a soft pouch on days I need one. Silver hardware sits coolly against the warm grey, and the two textures do all the decorating.
In use, the nap lies in one direction, so the bag changes shade as you move and changes texture as you brush it back into line. In winter it reads almost like felt; in summer, against linen, it looks like grey sand. I wear it mostly with wool and flannel from October to March, and it has become the bag I reach for on cold mornings.
Honest notes: brushed surfaces are the least water-friendly in my closet. A raindrop marks the nap, an oily finger marks it more, and both want brushing rather than wiping. The nap also flattens under the arm eventually; it recovers with a soft brush, but it never looks factory-new again, and I have made peace with that.
Worn with flannel, camel or ecru it feels like the tactile answer to a collection of smooth leathers. This is the 25 for people who choose bags with their hands. It is also the bag most often borrowed by my sister, which is the highest compliment in our family.
