Colour names are not always helpful, and this one is a good example: 37 Gold is not metallic at all, it is a soft camel tan that sits somewhere between honey and sand, and it arrives here with cool silver hardware rather than the gold you might expect. The contrast is deliberate and it works, especially in summer.
Tan is the most forgiving tone a pebbled leather can wear, and Togo in this colour hides daily life beautifully. Hands transfer a little oil over time, so a tan bag develops a gentle gradient on the handles and flap, the way a leather jacket darkens at the cuffs; some of us chase that patina, others prefer to keep it even by wiping with a dry cloth now and then. The grain means small scratches simply blend.
For a 30, the load I keep is seasonal: in warm months it is a card holder, phone, keys, sunglasses and a small zipped pouch; come winter, a pair of thin gloves and a compact scarf go in without a struggle. Thirty by twenty-two by sixteen centimetres is the quiet sweet spot of this family, big enough for real life, small enough to keep on a knee.
One practical caution with tan: dark denim can transfer onto the back panel in humid weather, so on long car journeys I rest the bag on its dust bag rather than against my jeans. With that small habit, the colour stays even for years.
