The name sounds like a paint chip, and the colour deserves it: Rose Texas is a warm coral pink, the tone of watermelon flesh a shade past ripe. On this In the Loop 18 it is the rare bright that feels adult, because the warmth stops it short of candy. It is also the bag that gets photographed most in my house.
Structurally you know the bag: eighteen centimetres across, a whisker under twenty tall, twelve deep, an open-topped bucket in pebbled, spongy Taurillon Clemence. The silver hardware is a nice piece of understatement against all that coral, and the leather has enough texture to keep the shade from looking flat. The loop handle suits a wrist stacked with bangles, which cannot be said of every bag.
My standard weekend with it is white jeans and a navy knit, which sounds like a cliche and looks like a photograph. Contents: phone, keys, a small wallet, sunglasses and a lipstick, and the coral does something to a plain face at lunch that no makeup trick has managed for me. It also survives a playground afternoon, with a wipe-down afterwards.
Two honest notes. Warm pinks show indentations from keys and coins more than dark colours do, so I keep metal in a soft pouch. And under very warm evening light the coral can drift toward orange; if you dislike that shift, morning light is where this bag is at its best. It is at its best quite often.
