October light is what Bordeaux was made for. The colour holds two moods at once — near-black in a dim hallway, properly wine-red the moment daylight hits it — so a single bag covers the austere and the rich halves of autumn dressing without changing anything else about the outfit.
The classic Constance 24 is the tighter geometry of the two sizes: 24 cm wide, 15 cm tall, only 5 cm deep. That shallow profile is deliberate. It keeps the bag flat under an arm and forces a useful edit: a phone, a cardholder, keys and a lipstick at most, which is frankly all a dinner or a gallery visit requires. I have fit a rolled scarf in beside it all when the evening turned cold.
In Epsom, Bordeaux stays saturated and even. The heat-pressed grain means the colour does not pool in the creases or fade across the flap, and the rigid construction lets the bag sit upright on a table like a small case. Gold hardware against it looks like a lit match in a dark room — small, warm, impossible to ignore.
One honest note: this red is deep enough that some people will read it as black at first glance, especially at night or in photographs. I think that disguise is the point; if you want a red that announces itself from across the street, look to the brighter tones. This one makes you look twice.
