There is a reason caramel colors keep coming back: they warm everything they touch, including a little black dress. This Mini 18 in shade 37 — a rich golden tan — does exactly that, and the matched gold hardware keeps the whole bag at one temperature.
The leather is Evercolor, with its fine, close grain and soft hand. On a small surface like this it shows the dye beautifully; the panels take a light polish with wear, which suits the golden tone. The dome is the classic Bolide curve drawn at 18 cm, and the zip and pull are the same fittings as the larger sizes, just in miniature.
For an evening I carry a phone, a card holder, keys stripped of bulky fobs, a lipstick and a folded note — comfortable, not crowded. During the day it swallows a small bottle and a compact when I swap the cardholder for a mini wallet. Fifteen centimetres of height makes that difference.
Weather and wear: Evercolor is not a rain bag, but a light drizzle wiped off quickly has left no marks on mine. The golden tone deepens very slightly where sunlight lands, which I count as a feature — a bag that slowly turns into a shade of its own past. Keep it in its dust bag between outings and the leather will repay the habit.
The honest limit: the Mini rewards lightness. Add a hard sunglasses case and you will be rearranging at every stop. Also, caramel shades show water spots more than darker tans, so keep it out of the rain and it keeps its glow.
