My rule for mini bags: they must earn their place by being light. This Etoupe Mini 18 passes because chèvre goatskin makes it feel nearly empty before you load it. Etoupe itself does the rest of the work — the grey-beige tone is neutral in a way that suits nearly every strap and coat I own.
Measurements, plainly: a palm-and-a-half of bag, 18 by 8 by 15 cm, with the same domed zip top as the larger Bolides. Sized up honestly, it takes a phone, a slim cardholder, keys, a lipstick and sunglasses folded in a soft sleeve — assuming the sleeve is a soft one; a hard case will win the fight and push everything else out.
Chèvre’s natural grain reads slightly matte here, and Etoupe looks softer on goatskin than on Epsom, where it turns cooler. The silver hardware picks up the grey in the leather nicely, zip and pull included.
In real use it works hardest at the in-between moments: market runs where a tote is overkill, airport trains where a backpack is unfashionable, dinner where a clutch is impractical. Etoupe keeps it polite in all three settings, and the light goatskin means the bag never becomes the reason your shoulder aches.
One caveat: minis reward light loads, and if you compress this bag it will crease along the base. I pack mine snugly, not jammed. For hands-free evenings and long lunches it is exactly enough — and noticeably less to carry home than a tote.
