The Rock is the Rodeo that went to a concert: same little horse, but its blanket is studded with palladium-plated metal that catches the light from across a room. In all black it is the closest a bag charm gets to a leather jacket, and I mean that as praise. It glitters without glittering, if that makes sense; buy it for the version of yourself that stays out late.
The charm measures 3.3 by 3 inches with 0.8 of an inch of depth, noticeably heavier in the hand than the plain PMs thanks to those studs. Milo lambskin keeps the base soft; the metalwork does the attitude, and palladium reads cool and silvery, which suits the black, and the studs are set in a row like rivets on a trunk.
I hang it on the front of a plain black shoulder bag, deliberately against the least interesting bag I own, because contrast upgrades both objects at once. At a gig, on a night bus, in a bar where the lights are low, the studs keep flashing like a tiny lighthouse. It has been to one concert, one birthday and one very long queue for a train.
One requirement of ownership: check where the studded panel rests, because metal does not belong against soft polished leather in a crowded bag. Keep it on the outside of the bag and the finish on both pieces stays happy. Made in France, and quietly loud. It is the only charm I would trust on a bicycle.
