Gris Trench is the sort of grey that behaves like a neutral with warmth in it: beige-grey rather than slate, which makes this strap easier to wear with earth tones than the name suggests. One face is that soft grey, the reverse is a straight black, and the Neo Etrier buckle sits between them in brushed permabrass.
The leather is Epsom calfskin, heat-embossed for a tight regular grain, and the strap measures 38 mm across. It is firm by nature: it holds its shape at the waist, resists scuffing and wipes clean after a rainy commute, and it will not sag or stretch out of proportion the way a softer hide can over years of heavy use.
From my own rotation: the trench-grey face works with navy, olive, brown and cream, which covers most of a winter wardrobe, while the black side is the safe choice under a charcoal suit or a dark dinner jacket. Permabrass gives a mellow gold warmth that suits both, and its matte finish keeps the buckle from looking shiny for its own sake.
Two caveats. The strap needs a week or so to break in because Epsom starts rigid, and at 38 mm it may not thread the narrowest suit-trouser loops. Neither has bothered me on denim and chinos, where the width feels exactly right.
Waist options run from 80 to 115 cm, and the size you choose should match where the belt sits, not your trouser size.
