Standing between a grey bracelet and a brown one and buying neither is a familiar feeling; Etoupe is the answer to that dilemma. It is the house’s signature non-colour, a greyed taupe that leans warm in daylight and cool under office lighting, which is why it sits with more of my wardrobe than either plain option would.
What arrives is the extra-narrow Uni: about 63.5 mm across the inside with a band of roughly 0.22 inches, so a fine, close-fitting ring rather than a cuff. There is no hinge and no toggle, so you slide it over your hand in one clean movement, which makes it the piece I reach for when I am running late and thinking about anything but accessories.
Stacks are where it pays off. Etoupe beside black looks composed, next to camel it looks expensive, and against a chunky gold watch it quietly holds its own without competing. I took it on a two-week trip with one white shirt and one navy blazer in the bag and never once felt it was the wrong choice for the day.
A trade-off worth flagging: a taupe this subtle can go a little muddy next to rust or mustard, so keep it near cool neutrals and it stays crisp. Wipe with a dry cloth, keep perfumes and pool water off it, and the rose gold plating will look after itself. Made in France.
