The Mini Clic Kelly trades the anchor link for the Kelly lock, a small, satisfying detail that sits at the top of a narrow enamel band, and in Marron Glacé the whole bracelet has the temperature of autumn.
Note the size difference: this one is built for a 6.7-inch wrist, slightly larger than the Chaine d’Ancre versions, with the same 0.31-inch width. The enamel is a glazed chestnut brown, deep but soft, and the rose-gold plating keeps it glowing rather than muddy. On the wrist it reads as a warm neutral, which is exactly what brown should do.
Mine has been worn through autumn and winter, with camel coats, cream jumpers and dark denim, and it is the piece I would pair with leather boots without a second thought. It also handles office use well: flat enough to type against, quiet when you move, and smart enough for a client meeting with no other jewellery at all.
Honest notes: a brown enamel will not give you contrast, so if your outfits are already brown on brown, this one will barely register. It whispers. And, as with all lacquer and plating, avoid perfume on the wrist and take it off before showering or swimming.
Made in France, and for me the Kelly lock alone makes it worth choosing over the plainer bands, which is saying something given how much I wear those.
