I bought these for a trip that mixed cities and coast, and they were the only footwear I needed. The calfskin upper runs tundra green with black detailing, and the interior is lined in black and tundra green lambskin, so the colour story continues inside where only you see it.
Comfort is where the Chypre earns its keep: the anatomical rubber sole is shaped under the arch, the strap buckles across the instep in seconds, and the vamp is wide enough to hold the foot without squeezing. The sole measure is 0.5 inch, low enough to feel the ground on cobbles and firm enough for a full day of walking. Sizes span 40 to 46, produced in Italy.
Colour-wise, tundra green is a muted olive that reads almost brown in evening light and clearer green in the sun, which makes it easy to wear with beige, stone or navy. I prefer it to black in summer simply because it is less severe against bare legs.
The one caveat: green leather of this depth shows pale scuff marks, and the lining, being lambskin, will darken with summer sweat and sunscreen over a season. Neither is a fault, but if you like your sandals to look untouched, choose a darker pair and keep these for the days you do not. What I would buy again without hesitation is the shape. My feet are average width and the vamp has held them without pressure across the toes, even after a full day on cobbles and stone steps.
