Three colours, one shoe, and somehow it stays polite. The body is white technical canvas, the overlays are marine suede, and a single red stripe, the shade Hermes calls rouge cinetique, cuts across the side near the H. The trick is the proportions: each colour stays in its lane, and none of them overwhelms the others. From a distance it registers as a classic jogger; up close the materials separate, canvas breathing, suede adding depth, neither trying to pretend to be the other.
Underneath, the parts list runs as follows: H242923ZHI3400, made in Italy, honey rubber outsole, white rubber midsole, welt in dark natural leather, lambskin in white through both insole and lining. Heel-to-ground stack of 0.87 inches. That is the whole of the technology, and it is enough. Sizes 40 to 46. A second pair of laces is included, and swapping them shifts the design balance noticeably.
My use case is the weekend city walk: coffee, a market, a long loop through the park, then lunch. The canvas portion handles heat better than any leather, and the lambskin interior is soft enough that I never bother with socks in summer. With straight-leg denim and a striped shirt the look lands somewhere between athlete and adult, which is where I want to be on a Saturday.
The maintenance picture is split by material. Canvas forgives almost everything: a soft brush and mild soap, done. The suede is the fragile half; rain spoils it, and once wet it needs to dry naturally, away from radiators. Add scuffing on the white midsole against stone curbs, and the routine is simply this, clean marks the day you notice them.
