Moire calfskin has a rippled, watered surface: the leather looks as though it has been brushed in one direction, and the gold shifts as you turn the sandal in your hand. It is a patterned finish rather than a printed one, subtle at arm’s length and much more interesting up close. Against the black sole, edge and lining, the effect is a dark sandal with a warm sheen.
Reference H212177Z 20360, made in Italy, sizes 36 to 41. The insole and lining are black calfskin, a slightly firmer touch than lambskin, which keeps the sandal feeling structured underfoot. The H cut-out is the single decorative element. This model comes without a published heel measurement, and honestly it feels like the flattest sandal in this group.
How I wear them: evening, mostly, with black or navy where the gold can do quiet work, and also with an all-black day outfit when I want one warm detail. They suit narrow trousers and long skirts better than shorts, and they handle a dinner that begins outside and moves indoors without any fuss.
Two considerations. The moire finish is a surface treatment, so sharp knocks and heavy abrasion can wear it thin at the toe; keep them away from gravel. And because the sandal is dark with a warm pattern, dust shows. A soft brush and a dry cloth are all they need; avoid wet creams, which can dull the ripple.
