Two white Match sneakers sit in this batch, and the difference between them is underfoot: this one stands on a 0.6 inch sole instead of the half-inch slab. That extra tenth of an inch changes the stance more than the number suggests, lifting the profile into something closer to a classic tennis shoe.
Everything above the sole is familiar and well judged – sport goatskin and calfskin sharing the upper, the perforated H en Biais motif breathing across the sides, and a second pair of laces in the box. Made in Italy, with sizes from 36 through 41.
I wore this pair through a full day of city walking, the kind with stairs, markets and a long walk home, and the extra foam underfoot made the last hour noticeably easier than a thinner sole would have. The goatskin softened across the instep without bagging at the sides.
The look stays clean and retro: white on white with only the perforation pattern breaking the surface, so it pairs with tailored shorts, wide denim or a summer dress without fighting any of them. The slightly taller sole gives the leg a fraction more length, which nobody complains about. It also holds its shape better than plimsoll-category sneakers, so it still looks smart at the end of a season.
Know before buying: a raised sole adds visual weight, so if you want the flattest possible profile, take the half-inch version. White leather also marks at the toe crease, and the perforations collect dust; a soft brush every few wears keeps the pattern crisp.
