Would I buy a white card holder a second time? Yes – but only in a leather that forgives, and Swift is more forgiving than its softness suggests. The grain is tiny and even, the finish is matte rather than glossy, and zero New White is a clean cool white, not cream.
Mine has lived in a linen blazer all summer. Two sleeves, one fold, room for six cards and a folded note, and so little bulk that the jacket’s shape is unchanged when I button it. That is the entire brief of a card holder, met.
Swift takes dye deeply, which is why the white reads bright rather than milky, and why the silver-tone edges look almost cool blue in certain light. It is also soft enough that the corners round gently over months instead of staying knife-sharp, a detail I find more handsome than a hard edge.
The trade-off is the obvious one: white records everything. Indigo from dark denim, ink from a forgotten pen, a thumbprint of coffee. Carrying it in an inside pocket rather than a back one solves most of it, and a dry cloth handles the rest. I have stopped babying it, which is the surest sign a purchase was a good one.
I rotate it out on rainy weeks and bring it back for summer. One season is not proof, but the fold is the first place cheap leather darkens, and this fold still looks untouched.
