Grey accessories have a reputation for being safe, and Gris Meyer is the counter-argument. It is a mid-grey with a touch of blue in it, the colour of good wool rather than a concrete wall, and against gold hardware it warms up enough that it never feels austere.
This Constance To Go is the wallet that travels with me most often, because 20 cm of width, 3.5 cm of depth and 12 cm of height is the sweet spot: room for cards, notes and a folded boarding pass, slim enough to sit flat inside a jacket pocket. The enamel H on the flap is the focal point, and warm-toned metal keeps the grey from looking purely practical.
Epsom is the reason it still looks new. The embossed grain shrugs off fingernails, keys and the rough interior of a tote, and it resists staining in a way smooth leather does not. What it will not do is relax, so this stays a firm rectangle for its whole life. If you prefer leather that slouches with age, choose a softer hide; if you like things staying neat, this is the one. Mine has been soaked once in a rainstorm, dried flat, and shows nothing.
Worn crossbody over a coat or carried as a clutch with the strap tucked in, it works from a Tuesday meeting to a Friday dinner. Few pieces in my drawer manage both.
