Vert Vertigo is not a shy green. Vivid, slightly cool, closer to emerald than the softer bamboo and jade tones in the range, and on Epsom it stays flat and even rather than glossy. Silver hardware is the right metal for it, because this is a green that wants to look modern rather than traditional.
At 17.5 cm wide and 9 cm tall it is the full-size Bearn with gusset, which means a real note compartment, real card slots and a coin section that would rather hold coins than confetti. It has done duty as my only wallet on a long weekend away – flight, hotel, three restaurants and a market – and it held the boarding pass, two currencies and a stack of small change without complaint.
The honest note: vivid greens draw the eye straight to any flaw, and Epsom scuffs arrive lighter than the surrounding colour, so this is the wallet for someone hovering between careful and carefree rather than firmly in either camp. Keep keys in a different pocket and it will stay flawless. Mine still looks new, and it shares a bag with keys every day.
Everything else is easy. Water rolls off, the gusset keeps its shape, and the colour has not shifted a shade since it arrived.
It is one of those greens that people comment on at the counter, then ask where it came from.
