The two-tone Cargo is a travel bag that happens to have been made beautifully. Orange Field and Chocolate meet across the body and pockets in a combination that looks like field equipment from a distance and a serious leather bag from close up – and if you have ever hunted for a black bag on a dark luggage belt, you will appreciate the orange.
Over 35 cm of width and an 18 cm depth, it takes a weekend with discipline: two shirts folded flat, a toiletry roll, a charger pouch, a book, and a light knit pushed into the last gap. The exterior pockets – the whole reason to choose a Cargo at all – hold a passport, a wallet, sunglasses and a phone where you can reach them without opening the main flap.
Honest notes. The chocolate Swift sections will mark faster than the orange, and the contrast makes every mark visible; the canvas trims need spot cleaning rather than polish; and two-tone anything demands that you decide you like it, because it will not blend into a quiet wardrobe.
As a travel companion, though, it is hard to beat. It is identifiable, it organises itself, and the leather softens into the shape of your trips the more you take it.
I keep returning to mine for airport days, which is the highest recommendation I can give a travel bag.
