There is no quiet way to carry lime, and that is the entire point. This is a bag with a season and a mood attached to it: a cream dress in June, denim and a white tee, a garden party where you are not the bride. Silver hardware keeps the green sharp and slightly acid; gold would have made it sweeter and more retro.
Practically it is still a 35 cm Birkin, which means it is not a toy. I use mine for racing around on Saturdays with a water bottle, a light jacket folded across the top, keys, wallet, phone and a pair of flats in a dust bag down at the bottom. Everything fits with space left sloshing around, and that is how I like a weekend bag to feel on the shoulder.
The warning is straightforward: bright Togo shows marks. Not scratches so much as any transfer of dirt or ink, and a lime bag makes those visible from across the room. It also narrows the wardrobe it lives with. If two thirds of your clothes are black and grey, this bag will look like a colour test every time you leave the house. If that sounds fun, it is genuinely fun.
On the plus side the dye is saturated all the way through, so fading is minimal as long as you keep it out of a car window in high summer.
Call it a holiday bag, a mood bag, whatever you like. It is the one people remember.
