I resisted a Craie bag for years, on the logic that I cannot be trusted with pale leather. I was wrong, and the Kelly 25 in Craie Epsom is why: this is a warm off-white with a hint of sand, not a fragile pure white, and Epsom’s sealed surface means most of what it meets, a wet coffee saucer, a smudged finger, city rain, comes off with a wipe.
What it gives back to an outfit is considerable. Against black, navy or grey, a chalk-soft bag is the easiest way I know to look put together in summer without adding a single accessory. Gold hardware finishes it with a faint, candle-like warmth that no silver could fake.
The 25 x 17 x 7 cm body holds my day the disciplined way: phone, cardholder, keys, glasses folded in the pocket, lipstick. If you need a laptop or a water bottle, this is not the bag you want; the point of the format is proportion, and the proportion is right.
The honest trade-off remains transfer. Dark denim straight out of the wash, a new black coat, a leather-jacketed friend hugging you; pale Epsom picks up contact like that, and those are the marks that need a specialist rather than a cloth. Keep it off shared seats, wipe it weekly, and it stays as bright as the day it arrived. Nothing about it is hard; it just requires being a little awake.
