Vert Verone is a deep, mossy green with a grey undertone, less forest and more stone wall with lichen on it, and it is the sort of colour that people of every taste stop to comment on. On Togo calfskin, whose pebbled grain breaks up the light, the green has a soft, curdled depth that flat leathers cannot produce.
Togo is the soft one: supple, lightly rain-resistant, comfortable to carry. That softness is a trade, so this Kelly will gently slouch when it is half empty, especially at the base, and the silhouette is easier than an Epsom bag, not as graphic. I happen to like the ease; it behaves like a favourite worn jacket rather than a display piece.
Weekend load: phone, keys, card holder, sunglasses, a market tote folded flat at the bottom. Silver hardware against the mossy green is cool and modern, and the top handle sits comfortably over the wrist while I fumble with a coffee and keys.
Honest note: greens are chameleons. Vert Verone looks distinctly green in daylight but can pass for dark grey under warm interior lighting, so if you are expecting a textbook green, look at it in person. Also, Togo’s slouch means the bag will not stay exactly as pressed as the day it arrived; it will get friendlier instead. For a daily carry in three seasons of the year, I would call that a fair exchange.
