I took this one to the Sunday flower market to test the color story, and it passed: ecru canvas, biscuit leather, jaune Naples trim, three quiet tones arranged like the inside of a bakery box. On a bag this size that could have turned mushy. The trim saves it. Biscuit and pale yellow give the cream something to lean against.
Canvas body, Negonda leather handles and edges, silver snap at the top. It is light to carry and easy to wipe down after market duty, and against linen, denim and straw it looks completely of the season. In winter it is the bag that brightens a gray coat from ten meters away, which is a job nothing else in my closet does.
Market loads mine has carried: a flat of herbs, a wrapped loaf, two jars of preserves and a bunch of dahlias, all without complaint and without tipping over on the bus. The open top is why that works, and the interior pocket kept my phone out of the crush against the jars.
One realistic caution. Cream canvas and pigment-heavy produce are natural enemies. A dropped raspberry left a mark that mostly lifted with cool water and mild soap, but only because I dealt with it that evening. Treat the canvas with a protective spray before the first outing, keep a wipe-down habit, and this bag handles the good kind of mess.
