Biscuit looks like coffee with a lot of milk, and I mean that as praise. It is a warm, low-saturation tan that sits between beige and brown, and on the Evelyne 23 it makes a bag that looks like it has been part of my wardrobe for years, even on day one.
The square shape works with this colour. A 23 cm face of Clemence keeps enough body to stand when resting on a table, while the pebbled grain softens the edges so nothing looks workwear-stiff. The silver hardware disappears politely into the tan, which is how I like fittings on a neutral bag.
Practical use: I carry a wallet, phone, keys, a lipstick, a compact and a paperback, and the bag never looks full. The 7.5 cm depth takes a folded scarf or a pair of light gloves when winter needs them. Crossbody on a long strap for walking, or over one shoulder with the strap shortened a notch.
Honest trade-off: Biscuit is light enough that fresh dark denim can transfer colour at the hip, so I wear it mostly with lighter trousers or skirts and keep raw denim for other bags. It has also picked up a honeyed depth around the strap anchors, which I find flattering rather than worn.
A warm-neutral bag that flatters almost any skin tone, and the one I lend to friends who say they cannot wear brown.
