Rose Sakura frightened me in photographs and charmed me in person. Pale pink on a screen looks like spun sugar; in Clemence, with its pebbled skin, it turns into something quieter, a soft blush that behaves almost like a neutral.
The 23 cm square is a good stage for the colour, because the bag is small enough to be one accent and large enough to look intentional. Silver hardware keeps everything cool and prevents the pink from drifting toward baby-shower territory. The grain gives the surface a fine, almost suede-like depth in daylight, and it never looks synthetic in the hand.
I use mine for lunches, gallery afternoons and spring weddings: phone, a small cardholder, keys, a lipstick and my sunglasses fit with room for a folded invitation. The strap lengthens for crossbody or shortens for shoulder wear, and the bag sits flat against a coat without pulling at it.
The honest caveats are the ones pale leather always carries. Colour transfer is real, and dark coats, new denim and cheap leather belts are the usual suspects. I wipe the bag with a dry cloth after heavy wear and store it in its dust bag, and it has stayed clean for a year.
A pink for people who think they do not wear pink. This is the one that changed my mind, and the one I would hand to anyone still deciding.
