Blue Electric is exactly what it sounds like: a cobalt so saturated it seems to hum, and gold hardware is the right partner because anything cooler would fight it. This is not a bag for a quiet outfit; it is the outfit’s one loud opinion, and worn that way it is superb. I bought it in April and it has owned every spring since.
The leather does the rest. Clemence pebble gives the cobalt a depth that flat blues lack, and the matte surface keeps it from looking lacquered under electric light. The frame is a compact handful of a bag, and it carries phone, cards and keys with room to spare for the day’s small extras. The grain is dense, with almost no natural markings, which suits the cobalt.
One caution from a year of wearing it: electric blue makes any other blue nearby look tired, so I stopped pairing it with navy and never looked back. White, charcoal, camel, denim, those are its partners. It photographs beautifully and it is even better in person, which is the correct order of things to be surprised by.
I use mine most in spring, when the coat comes off and color comes back into play, and on summer evenings, when the gold catches low light. It is the one I trust on days I want to be remembered rather than merely seen. It is a small bag with a loud voice, and I have never met anyone unmoved by it.
