Gris Etain gets called grey, and it is, but there is moss in it: a green undertone you notice beside a true grey and stop noticing everywhere else. On the 2424 mini it is the most chameleon-like of the greys I have tried.
At 21 × 16 × 12 cm the proportions are nearly cubic, and the Evercolor and Swift construction keeps those clean lines honest. The silver hardware reads as a soft white against the greenish grey, which is part of why the pairing works. The strap hardware is deliberately small, so nothing clinks against a table when I set the bag down; it arrives quietly.
What fits: a phone and a wallet slip in flat, with keys and a lip balm beside them, and the strap sits long enough for crossbody wear when I want my hands free for a coffee and a paper. The interior is dark enough that keys disappear for a second, so mine live on a bright fob; a fair exchange for the outside looking this even.
My one flag is that Etain’s green edge argues gently with olive and khaki clothing. Against navy, charcoal, cream or denim it simply works, so I plan around that and enjoy the rest. Once the flap is flattened properly the bag closes with a satisfying finality, and the gussets are forgiving as long as I respect the limit.
If you have been circling a grey bag for a while, this is the one with a bit of weather in it.
