Chai, Nata and Cuivre are three shades of almost-nothing with a copper thread running through them, and on the mini 2424 the effect is a bag that looks quietly expensive without ever saying so. It was the one I had to see in daylight before I understood it. In photographs the three tones flatten into one; in person they take turns.
The near-cube 21 cm shell is Evercolor and Swift, with the silver hardware acting as a cool counterweight to Cuivre’s warmth. Up close you can trace where one tone ends and the next begins; from across a room it reads as one soft, sandy colour. The stitching runs pale against the leather, which is why the tones still separate when the light is flat.
Phone, a small key pouch and a compact mirror are what I take, and it disappears under an arm at a gallery opening, which is exactly the energy I bought it for. The strap is thin enough to vanish under a blazer, and I have worn it that way to two openings already.
A very pale trio asks for a little discipline: pens capped, keys in their pouch. Cuivre’s toasted edges give it more forgiveness than a pure white would, but this is not a bag for a muddy trail.
For pale tailoring and warm light, few minis in this line look more composed. It is also the bag that convinced me pale leather can be a daily habit rather than a summer indulgence, provided the small habits stick.
