There is a particular pleasure in two blues that only just agree. Blue Nuit runs deep and ink-dark; Blue Navy sits beside it half a shade lighter, and across the mini’s surfaces the two take turns catching the light. This is contrast for people who find contrast suspicious.
The same 21 cm footprint as the rest of the line, Evercolor pressed even and Swift soft at the folds, with gold hardware that keeps the dark blues from feeling bottomless. Held up to a window, you can watch the two tones trade places across the flap. The interior is a single blue, plain and dark, which keeps the game strictly outside.
My phone, a slim wallet, keys and a compact go inside without rearranging. I wear it with a navy coat in winter and with denim in summer, and it has never once looked like an accident, which for a two-blue bag is a genuine achievement.
Honest note: in low light the two blues merge into one dark mass and the whole point of the pairing disappears. The contrast is for daylight, for close company and for whoever is holding the bag. I knew that going in, and the daytime flip is worth it. Indoors after eight it becomes the quietest navy-black bag I own, and that version is useful too.
Of all the two-tone minis here, this is the one that says the least and means the most. It has also been mistaken for a custom order twice, which I have started accepting as a compliment.
