One bag per wardrobe gets to be the loud one, and Vert Fizz is in the running. It is a bright, fresh green — fizz is the right word, it has carbonation — and on a sunny street it is the color of a lime leaf held up to the light. Wearing it, you are never going to be the person in the quiet corner, and that is the entire point.
The surprise is how well the design contains the color. Clemence’s pebble grain softens the brightness into something matte and a little chalky, and the 26 by 18 by 12 centimetre proportions keep the bag itself modest — a small, bright object rather than a large one. The gold fittings warm the green like late light through leaves. Nearly any neutral you own will stand back and let it speak.
Inside: phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, and usually none of the boring extras, because this bag asks to travel light. The side pockets hold a metro pass and a hair clip. Worn cross-body with the handles folded, it moves like a small flag through a grey commute.
Honest notes: bright greens show every scuff within the first season — dark marks are the currency. Mine has a faint nick on a corner and I stopped seeing it after a month. Second, this is a spring-and-summer colleague; in deep winter the color can feel borrowed. If both of those sentences read like fair terms, you will love this bag more than the sensible ones.
