Anemone is the purple of the sea flower it is named after: saturated, blue-leaning, and completely unbothered by the beige-and-grey consensus. Worn with cream it sings; worn with charcoal it smoulders; worn with more purple it wins, obviously.
Eighteen centimetres of basket-soft Clemence, which is exactly as much purple as most outfits can take. The leather is thick and pebbled with the usual matte face, so the colour has depth rather than lacquer, and the gold hardware strikes one warm note against the cool violet. The bag itself follows the Picotin formula — rolled handle, rounded base, straps through the lock.
What goes inside is deliberately spare, because this bag is the outfit: phone, cardholder, keys, a lipstick. At dinner it holds a slim compact as well; at a party it holds the phone and the rest of the night. The wrist carry suits a glass in the other hand.
A styling trick: let everything else stay neutral and give the purple one echo — an enamel pin, a ribbon, nothing more. Gold jewellery, needless to say, is already in on the plan.
Two honest points. Purple at this saturation is a statement — if your closet is all navy and oatmeal, this bag will be the only thing anyone remembers, which is either the goal or the problem. And Clemence softens whatever it touches, so expect a slouched silhouette, not a sharp one. Give it both, and it rewards you with years of colour.
