Vert Jade is a green cut from stone rather than stem — cool, mineral, faintly translucent in the way the best jade is. Gold hardware on a bag this colour sounds like a gamble until you try it: the warm metal wakes the green from the outside in, and the two together look like something inherited.
Eighteen centimetres of bucket, which is to say a jewel’s worth. The Picotin Lock 18 keeps its soft architecture — rolled handle, rounded base, strap ends gathered at the little lock plate — and Taurillon Clemence keeps its thick, pebbled hand, matte and friendly, folding wherever the day asks. The green sits deep in that texture, deeper in shade than in sun, so the bag has a private life in both.
Carried contents are the classic small set: phone, keys, a card case, a lipstick, and a compact of pressed powder that lives in the corner pocket of my own invention — the bucket’s, not the bag’s. The handle rides the wrist through markets and up stairs equally well.
Worn with cream and camel it looks inherited; with black it looks collected. Keep it out of direct window light in storage and the jade stays mineral rather than fading toward sage.
One caution for the colour: jade tones photograph darker than they wear, so if a screen makes this look forest green, trust the daylight version instead. And the leather, as ever, eases into a slouch — store it lightly filled, and the drape stays elegant rather than crushed.
