Glacier blue sounds cold; worn, it is anything but. This is a soft, milky blue that shifts from pale sky in daylight to something almost grey at dusk, and it flatters white, grey and camel in a way few light blues manage. Think of an overcast morning that turns out warm by noon.
The bag comes in just shy of eighteen centimetres each way with a thirteen centimetre depth, made in pebbled Taurillon Clemence. Silver hardware is the obvious partner for a cool tone like this – it disappears into the colour rather than interrupting it – and the slack leather gives the little bucket its easy, folded stance.
Capacity is the honest compromise here: my cardholder rides with the phone, keys sit beside them, and a lipstick goes on top – but an umbrella or a paperback is out of the question. What it does brilliantly is travel light; I take mine on city weekends with nothing but the day’s essentials and never feel under-equipped.
Care note: pale blues show rain darker than they deserve. Clemence spots when wet, so dry it the moment you come in from a shower, and give it a rest from dark denim for the first weeks. After that, it wears like a favourite shirt.
One more thing I like about it: on a crowded train, the colour reads as quiet rather than plain, and the open top makes boarding and exiting far less of a production than a zipped bag does.
