If the other Pegases are exclamation marks, Vert Moyen is a full stop — a deep, even green with the calm of a hedge the day after rain. It is the Rodeo I would hand to someone who wants the shape and the handcraft without the candy-shop colors.
Lambskin and calfskin share the work, both dyed to the same quiet green, and the difference between them shows only as a soft shift from velvety to smooth across the horse’s form. No metal parts touch your bag, and the charm slips over a handle on its own leather loop.
At palm size — 9.7 by 7.8 centimetres, a centimetre thick — it leaves a handle’s line almost untouched, which matters on a structured bag. Mine lives on a chestnut briefcase; deep green against brown is as close to a signature pairing as I have managed.
Pairings it likes: browns of every depth, olive, cream and navy all give it room, and against a dark green coat it turns almost tonal, like camouflage grown elegant. It is the sort of charm you stop noticing after a month and then catch in a mirror, which is the highest compliment I can pay a neutral.
One fair warning: in evening light Vert Moyen reads almost black, so if you want the charm to be visible after dark, this is not the one to choose. In daylight its quietness is the whole point — it rewards a second look rather than demanding a first one.
