Gris Misty is a pale grey with a soft, almost powdery cast, the color of a window fogged up on a cold morning. It is the quietest bag in this line, and the one I take when I do not want to think about a bag at all; because it matches nothing loudly, it works with everything softly.
Clemence’s thickness gives the pale shade substance, so it never looks washed out in daylight. The leather is soft enough that the bag collapses into an oval when empty; fill it with a glasses case, a phone, keys, a folded tote and a water bottle and it takes a low, relaxed shape against the body. The grain reads as fine stippling in this color, like the surface of good paper.
Silver hardware is nearly invisible against this grey, which is exactly the point. The lock threads over its tab, the fittings stay clean, and the whole bag reads as one soft object with no interruptions. The handles keep their arch when it is set down, so it always looks placed rather than dropped.
A word about finding things: because the interior is the same pale tone as the outside and there are no pockets, small objects in a deep bucket take a second to locate. I keep my keys on a bright leather fob for that reason. It is the only compromise this color asks me to make, and it has repaid the favor on almost every outing since.
