I keep two belts within reach of the same hook: a plain black one and a warm tan one. This Mini Constance strap covers both jobs, and I wear the Epsom black face four days out of five, saving the gold-tan Swift side for lighter tailoring and holidays.
It is a single piece of leather, not two: Swift calfskin on one face, Epsom on the other, flipped through the buckle when I want a different colour. At 24 mm, nine tenths of an inch, the strap slides through the narrow loops of dress trousers without a fight, and the compact Mini Constance buckle keeps the metal in proportion. That buckle is yellow gold plated, warm enough to flatter the tan side and to lend the black face a little glow.
The two leathers behave differently, which is part of the appeal. Swift is the smooth, fine-grained one; it takes polish and looks composed against wool. Epsom is heat-embossed, firmer and difficult to scuff, so I give that face to denim and long travel days.
One honest quirk of any reversible strap: whichever side you wear, the opposite colour shows as a thin edge along the leather, and near the buckle the strap keeps a slight curve from the direction it was last worn. Neither is a fault, just how a single reversible piece behaves, and both settle down with use.
Sizes run from 70 to 115 cm, so measure your waist over the trousers you have in mind and round to the nearest size. The strap and buckle are both listed as made in France.
