Peacock blue is the boldest colour that still counts as classic, and Blue Paon is exactly that bird — deep teal-blue with a green heart, changing personality as light moves over Swift calfskin’s smooth surface. The body is twenty-two centimetres of deep blue-green worn at the hip, and the gold hardware casts a warm reflection into the colour, a pairing I would have chosen myself. Over a camel coat, the effect is immediate.
What I carry: phone, key case, cardholder, and sunglasses on bright days. The flat interior suits sleeves and folded papers, less so chunky pouches — this is a bag that rewards travelling light and punishes hoarding, at a ratio of about nine to one. The strap is long enough for crossbody wear and settles without twisting, and the bag rides flat against the hip no matter how full it is.
Honest note: Blue Paon is beautiful and a little proud. It declines to coordinate with warm browns and olive, adores grey, navy, cream, denim and — naturally — white. Deep saturated blues also show every dust particle under sunlight almost as readily as black does, so a monthly wipe keeps it vivid. If a wardrobe can be said to have a personality, this bag insists yours has one.
It is the colour on this page I get asked about most, and I understand why — worn on the Danse, it refuses to look ordinary for even one season.
