If the Etoupe Danse in gold reads warm, this one reads architectural. The same softened taupe leather — Evercolor calfskin with its fine, dry-feeling grain — now paired with silver hardware, which pulls the colour toward stone and cool concrete. I keep both versions in reach, and which one I take depends on the rest of the outfit: silver for grey flannel and denim, gold for camel and olive.
On the body the bag is compact — a 22 cm width over a 16 cm height — and it rides exactly where a crossbody should: below the elbow, above the hip, not banging into anything when I carry two bags. Packed for an ordinary day: phone, cardholder, keys. Packed for a long one: add a slim battery pack and it still closes. The flap’s hinge is leather-lined and stays soft, and there is no plastic anywhere in the lock that I can find or feel.
The caveat is specific to silver and taupe: in low, warm interior lighting, grey-beige next to silver can look slightly flat, almost photographic. In daylight that disappears. If most of your wearing happens at night, the gold version is livelier; if it happens outdoors, this one is cleaner.
It is the bag I hand to someone who says they do not like coloured bags; they usually change their minds within a wear or two of carrying it.
