On a bright cold morning this blue looks lit from within. Blue Glacier is the palest shade in the Mini 23 line, a washed sky tone that turns a dark outfit into a composition, and wearing it feels less like accessorising and more like opening a window. It is the bag that drew the most comments last summer, and from strangers rather than friends.
Twenty-three centimetres wide and seventeen tall, the bag carries a phone, a card sleeve, keys and a small hair clip, with the flat profile keeping everything against the body. Swift’s smooth surface picks up the silver hardware cleanly, and the strap adjusts for either shoulder or crossbody wear. The pale leather takes on the temperature of the season around it, cool in spring, bright in high summer.
Pale blue is a colour that forgives denim in a way that white does not, but it is not invincible. My honest advice: wear it with light or mid-weight outerwear, and give the corners a glance every few weeks, because a dark wool coat pressed against it over a whole season will eventually leave a shadow. With a white shirt the effect is almost nautical, in the best way.
What it gives back is enormous for such a small bag. Against grey, camel or white it looks like a breath of cold air, and in the middle of summer it is the only cool thing about a hot street. It is a specialist, but a happy one. Treat it gently and it will make simple outfits look deliberate for years.
