This is the pink that makes people smile in lifts. Rose Confetti is a true candy pink, cool and bright, with none of the dusty restraint of the house’s paler pinks, and it is the bag I carry when I need the day to improve and would rather not explain why. It has never failed at that job.
Underneath the colour sits the familiar bucket: eighteen centimetres across, nineteen and a half to the loop, twelve deep, cut from pebbled Taurillon Clemence that holds the bright pink with a matte softness. The silver hardware adds a cold sparkle like the foil on the sweet the shade is named after, and the texture keeps it from looking like a toy.
It is not only a joke bag, though. On a grey Monday it carries my phone, keys, a cardholder and a compact with room over; with grey tailoring the pink reads like a decision rather than a mood; with denim it reads like a holiday. I have used it at both ends of a week without changing a thing.
Honest limits: candy pink is the colour strangers comment on, and the bright finish shows small marks on the lower corners after a season of use. Neither has ever bothered me, but both are facts of the shade. Buy it because you want a bag with a mood, not because you want one that waits for permission.
