Zanzibar blue is holiday blue. It is the color of shallow water, vivid with a touch of green in it, and on a pebbled Negonda body it stays bright rather than brash. About the span of two open hands across the base, the Garden Party 30 in this shade is the bag that makes a plain white shirt look planned.
The leather is Negonda, soft and pebbled, with a matte face that keeps the blue from going glossy. Silver hardware appears at the snap only. This is not a color that blends in; it is the one you carry when you want the bag to do the talking and the outfit to stay quiet.
On a summer day mine holds a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, phone, wallet, a paperback and a rolled scarf. The open top keeps everything reachable, and the bag moves from poolside to a late lunch without looking out of place at either. That kind of range is why this color survives in my rotation even when the season does not.
The trade-off with a shade this saturated is commitment. It will not sit quietly with every outfit, and pale scuffs show more on bright leather than on dark. But of all the bold colors I have carried, this is the one that still makes me smile in February, which is worth more than versatility. If you want a bag that whispers, this is the wrong one; if you want one that sings in June, it has no equal here.
