I wore this one crossbody for a solid month to test the 120 cm strap, and the result is that the strap is the most considered part of the design: it sits at the hip on a tall frame, does not twist, and the leather has not stretched at the stitching points.
Etoupe, eighteen, is the same grey-brown mix as the rest of this colour’s family, but the silver fittings change its temperature. Where gold warms that leather into a tawny tone, silver pushes it towards stone, which makes it the better choice with light grey coats and white shirts.
The wallet holds what a wallet should: cards behind the front panel, notes folded once, coins and a key in the remainder of the body, and nothing more, because ten point two centimetres of height has limits. In a big tote it lies flat and stays out of the way; worn alone it is a small, complete bag.
The honest limitation is the fixed strap. You cannot shorten it, so if you like a shoulder bag that tucks high under the arm this will not do it – crossbody or a loose shoulder drape are the options. And no, a phone will not fit; the depth is three centimetres and it means it.
Epsom’s pressed grain has kept the body looking new through a busy month, and the silver clasp has only the faintest of thumb marks where it is opened daily.
