Navy is the workhorse of a wardrobe, and Bleu Navy is navy at its most serious — dark enough to pass for black in a meeting, blue enough to soften a grey suit. I tested it against three coats: camel, charcoal and olive. It flattered all of them.
Epsom keeps the color crisp. The embossed surface holds dye evenly, so this deep blue never turns dusty in the folds, and drizzle rolls off with a wipe. The bag stands squarely on its base; firm leather means the silhouette you see on day one is the one you get at year two.
On capacity, the interior takes a full-size wallet, a tablet in a sleeve — upright, just — phone, keys, a compact and a small water bottle. The top zip runs the curve fast once you learn to hold the pull at an angle; that muscle memory forms within a week.
One styling observation: navy next to brown used to feel like a risk, and this bag retired the worry — against a cognac belt and tan shoes it reads as considered rather than accidental. With gold fittings it also warms up winter greys, which is more than I can say for the silver-metal version in the next window.
The trade-off is weight of character: Epsom announces itself and does not drape. If you like a bag that slouches into the wrist, this is not it. If you want one that still looks composed at the end of a nineteen-stop day, blue on gold will do it.
