Rose Darling, Rouge Radieux and a Céleste-blue accent on one small horse is a lot of colour, and the Coeur handles it because the quantity is tiny: a palm-sized object can shout without causing a scene. This is the glam one of the six hearts. It insists on being noticed, and it deserves to be.
At eight and a half centimetres long it fits a small bag’s outer ring as comfortably as a big tote’s zipper, and the lanyard lets it lie flat when you want it still. The lambskin is Milo, glossy under strong light because of the saturated dyes. Even the tail carries the theme through.
I clipped it to a red-lacquered evening bag for a December party and to a plain cream tote the following week; both worked, which is the trick of a charm that already contains a party. Pink and red together stopped being a risk years ago — commit. It has been photographed more than any bag I own and has never once looked caught out.
Two truths: this colourway asks for confidence, and it will not quietly coordinate with an all-brown wardrobe. Also, the Rouge Radieux section fades first under direct sun, so stow it shaded in summer. Buy it to be seen, not to match. On grey days, it is medicinal. I keep it for the weeks that need a bright answer, and there are more of those than I expected.
