If you own several fine chains and never know which to wear, this is the pendant that answers the question by joining them. The Mini Maillon hangs a rose gold plated link, 0.79 by 0.47 of an inch, from a chain that can be set from 16.5 to 18.9 inches, so it can be the shortest element in a stack or the longest.
My own arrangement is three chains deep: a plain box chain at 16.5 inches, this maillon at 17.5, and a longer locket below. The rose gold sits in the middle like a hinge holding the picture together, and the effect is more deliberate than any of the three pieces manages alone.
Worn singly it is just as good with a white shirt, collar open, link resting flat. I keep the clasp at the back of the neck and the link turned to its oval face, because the flat side catches light better than the edge.
One honest point: the two rose gold finishes in this range are close enough that most people will not tell them apart in a drawer, so choose by the chains you already own rather than by a photograph. Plated, made in France, and best stored flat.
A tip if you plan to stack: measure the chains you already own before ordering, because this pendant looks best as the second or third shortest element in the arrangement, never as the anchor of a long drop. Mine sits at about 17.5 inches, roughly where a crew neckline begins.
