Orange is a gamble in a wallet. Done badly it looks like a logo, done well it looks like a private joke, and this shade leans warm and slightly red, with silver rather than gold keeping it clear of souvenir-shop territory. It is the colour I reach for when the rest of my carry is plain.
The Hermèsnap opens like a folded book: a snap tab at the front, a full-width body behind it, and a 4.5 cm depth that makes room for a proper gusset. Cards sit in the slots across the spine, notes and a folded printout go behind them, and coins live in the zip.
Epsom is the practical half of the story. Heat-stamped grain resists scratching, holds its shape and takes dye evenly, which is why the orange looks the same at the edges as it does in the middle. It is also the leather that ages least dramatically: years in, an Epsom wallet looks close to what it looked like on day one, which some people love and others find a little clinical.
Worn with denim and a white shirt it does all the talking; worn with an orange sweater it looks like you planned it. My only caution is the snap tab, where hand oils dull the finish first. That wipes off easily, but it will happen, and anyone who needs leather to stay untouched should factor it in.
