Nineteen centimetres long and barely one and a half thick – this is the flattest wallet in my drawer and the most elegant thing I carry. Gris Mouette, a soft dove grey, is the colour that shows the silhouette best: pale enough to hold the light, quiet enough to go with everything from denim to a suit.
The proportions are the point. Eleven and a half centimetres of width gives the panel presence without turning it into a bag, and the slim profile means it prints nothing through a jacket. Gold hardware against the cool grey is the warm note in the design; it stops the piece looking purely businesslike.
Loaded, it takes cards in a long row, notes laid out flat rather than folded twice, and a key tucked in at one end. Everything stays where it is put because the wallet is flat, not because compartments are fighting each other – and for that reason it opens and closes in a second at a counter.
Where I would manage expectations: a leather this slim is not the one to overstuff. The moment you force a phone and a coin purse inside, it stops behaving like a wallet and starts behaving like a pouch. I keep mine to cards, notes and one key.
After a winter of use the dove grey has kept its even tone, and the gold hardware has picked up the faint warmth that polished metal always does with handling.
