White leather has a reputation problem, and Swift is both the best and the worst candidate for it. Best, because Swift takes pale dye so evenly that blanc here is clean and unclouded with no yellowing in the finish. Worst, because Swift is smooth, finely grained and soft, so nothing at all hides. I treat mine the way I treat a white shirt: carefully, and without much drama.
What you get in exchange is a structured bag in a colour that goes with everything, and at 35 cm it makes a plain outfit look deliberate rather than accidental. It carries a laptop for an office day or a towel and a paperback for a beach house, and the bright surface keeps it from feeling heavy in the hand even when it is full.
The caveats are specific and worth repeating. Do not lean it against dark denim or a new dark coat, because colour transfer onto Swift is quick and stubborn. Keep it away from damp grass and wet ink, and because Swift is soft and marks easily, mind the handles – rings off, nails filed, no keys dangling against the flap.
Stored with its pillow inside a dust bag, it will hold its white for years, and a barely damp cloth handles most of what daily life delivers.
Worth the attention? For me, yes. Nothing else in a wardrobe lifts a grey winter outfit the way this does.
