Rose Confetti is the softest pink in this collection – a pale candy tone laid over a white base, more birthday-cake icing than flower petal – and in Epsom it keeps a clean, even finish that stops the sweetness short of sugary. It is pretty, but it is not naive, and it works with more of a wardrobe than you would expect.
The Kelly 28 format is 28 by 22 by 10 centimetres, rigid in the hand, with enough room for a compact wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses and a flat pouch. Silver hardware keeps the pale pink fresh and slightly cool; gold would have made it warmer and more vintage, which is a real choice, not a wrong one at all.
Daily reality with pastel Epsom: the embossed surface wipes clean and shrugs off light rain, but pale leather still collects evidence – denim transfer on the back panel, a grey smudge from a coat hook, ink from a leaking pen. I wipe mine down with leather cleaner every few weeks, and it has stayed uniform, with one faint shadow where a black tote once pressed against it in a queue.
Storage helps: a dust bag, out of sunlight, stuffed lightly. Do that and a pale bag can stay pale for years.
For spring weddings, garden lunches and any day that needs lifting, Confetti is the quiet way to wear pink in daylight.
